MCD19A1 - MODIS/Terra+Aqua Land Surface BRF Daily L2G Global 500m and 1km SIN Grid
MCD19A1 represents a daily L2 gridded (L2G) land surface bidirectional reflectance factor (BRF) product created using both Terra and Aqua MODIS data inputs. Based on the Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC) algorithm, it atmospherically corrects MODIS data for both gases and aerosols. The MAIAC-derived land surface BRF product provides an estimate of surface spectral reflectance as if measured at ground level in the absence of atmospheric scattering or absorption.
The MCD19A1 product contains three data groups with the following Science Data Set parameters:
- Grid500m group
- Surface bidirectional reflectance factor 500m [Bands 1 through 7]
- Surface bidirectional reflectance factor 500m [Bands 1 through 7]
- Grid1km group
- Surface bidirectional reflectance factor 1km [Bands 1 through 12]
- BRFn uncertainties over time [Bands 1 – 2]
- Snow Fraction in 1 km pixel
- Snow Grain Diameter (mm)
- Snow Reflectance RMSE in Band 1, 5 and 7
- Status_QA
- Grid5km group
- Cosine of Solar Zenith Angle
- Cosine of View Zenith Angle
- Relative Azimuth Angle
- Scattering Angle
- Solar Azimuth Angle
- View Azimuth Angle
- Glint Angle
- Ross-Thick Li-Sparse volumetric kernel
- Ross-Thick Li-Sparse geometric kernel
The MCD19A1 data product has achieved Stage-1 validation.
